We have seen countless designer pieces flaunted on the red carpet over the last few weeks as awards season has hit us. Taylor won three Grammys in Versace (still drooling), FKA Twigs pulled off some seventies flares under her McQueen dress at the Brits, we finally saw Leo get his Oscar in Armani and Kate was by his side in Ralph Lauren then at the Vanity Fair After Party Gwen Stefani was in a lot of sheer Yannia Couture. The real ‘Belle of the Oscars’, however, was Alicia Vikander who took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in The Danish Girl. Her custom Louis Vuitton was compared to Disney’s Princess Belle for good reason.
According to the actress the Louis Vuitton dress was inspired by her love of Beauty and the Beast when she was a child. And if you’re going to dress like a princess what better excuse than the Oscars? The dress was strapless, it’s asymmetric hemline meaning only the back of her bubble skirt graced the floor. Vikander described her dress as ‘dusty yellow’ a perfect colour for the spring transition and a bold move for the red carpet. The abstract silver detailing that finished the dress made it impossible for her not to stand out. The details were kept simple. Her silver strappy heels could just be seen to show off the cut of the dress. Vikander had diamonds dripping from her ears but her neck and wrists were bare and her hair fell loosely down her back, the front pinned off her softly made up face. Nothing was to detract from from the gown.
Louis Vuitton always stands out on the red carpet. This was just one of our favourite Vuitton red carpet looks from the season! It’s a classic designer name that will always be recognised. Shop our Vuitton bags here for your own red carpet deserving look!
