Natacha Ramsay-Levi is a name you will likely be hearing a lot more of as she will be taking centre stage to debut her new collection for French fashion house Chloé for SS18 at Paris Fashion Week. The designer formerly worked as the Creative Director of women’s ready-to-wear at Louis Vuitton.
Ramsay-Levi first began her career in the industry as an intern, making coffee at the studio of Balenciaga back in 2002 alongside Nicolas Ghesquière. Quickly she moved up the ranks and became a design Director, staying with the brand for eleven years. Eventually, when Ghesquière decided to move to Louis Vuitton, Ramsay-Levi decided to follow him there, becoming his number two. The pair have worked together at Louis Vuitton for the past four years.
Mother-of-one Ramsay-Levi is the perfect fit for Chloé as the designer herself has all the makings of a true Chloé girl. She isn’t afraid to be herself, and exudes a chic, cool and feminine look. She will be expected to somewhat shake things up for the brand. It would not be surprising to see the ethereal aesthetic of Chloé to become slightly edgier and more androgynous to reflect Ramsay-Levi’s personal style.
Natacha is expected to begin her new position from April, which means we will have to wait until the autumn shows to see her first collection under the brand. However, a watchful eye will be kept on this designer, who will no doubt blossom into her new role at the helm of the French fashion house. No doubt it will be an exciting and challenging venture for Ramsay, who has so many great styles and previous Director's to live up to.
