The iconic and stunning Popincourt tote bag was first introduced by Louis Vuitton in 2005 and is steeped with history. The name is taken from a popular market in Paris, and was originally available in two different sizes. The Popincourt Haut, which was a shoulder bag, and the Popincourt, which was a smaller bag with top handles. The bags were unfortunately discontinued in 2010 but have been revived for Spring 2017 with a new design.
The new Popincourt remains the perfect tote bag to take out shopping. They are crafted out of the fashion houses signature monogram canvas, and finished with colourful trims. However, the new size and detachable shoulder strap are welcome updates, as they now make for a comfortable and versatile shoulder bag. The exterior has a zipped pocket and two large outside pockets. It is also secure with a zip close, which is often not the case on totes.
The interior colour is matched to the trim colour and the shiny gold tone hardware makes for a sophisticated and chic bag for daytime. The interior has been well thought out and comes with a flat pocket and two smart phone pockets. The single compartment is spacious so you can carry your essentials and more and the bottom studs protect the bag from wear and tear. The new design comes in both MM and PM sizes so you can choose how much room you need, making this a great go to bag for summer.
