On February 2nd, Riccardo Tisci announced that he was stepping down as Creative Director of Givenchy after twelve years at the helm. Chloé’s Clare Waight Keller stepped into the role but is yet to show her first collection for the brand. As always when a brand is undergoing a major change, everyone was eager to see how the label was going to develop after Tisci’s direction.
We can now get a sense of what may be to come as Givenchy’s pre fall collection is now available to buy online. Amongst this new collection is a bag that has everybody talking, and that is the infinity bag.
The infinity range is available to buy in four different silhouettes which include the hobo, the saddle bag, the flap bag and the bucket bag. This new range is sleek and understated in its design, with simple detailing, smooth lines and a single, chunky silver chain detail on each one. Givenchy has debuted this new bag range in classic winter colours, black and ox blood. The style is very much still in Tisci’s design direction of urban chic, so it will be interesting to see if Waight Keller changes the aesthetic up for her highly anticipated debut.
The strong pre-fall accessories collection also features the firm favourites, the Pandora and the Antigona are back and kept sleek and simple. However, they have not played safe with the colours on their more classic styles and have put some pinks and reds into the mix. There is no doubt this strong collection will surely help the brand to continue to position itself at the forefront of the top fashion houses whilst we are waiting to see what lies ahead with it’s new Creative Director.
