Selena Gomez and Coach are a match made in fashion heaven. The young star reaches out to her huge audience of 122 million Instagram followers each day, and is the epitome of the young, cool, American girl. At just 24 years old, she has become a fashion icon in her own right. She landed her first American Vogue cover back in April of this year, and Bagista covered her custom Coach outfit and accessories at this year's Met Gala.
Coach, an American heritage brand, was founded in 1941 under the name Manhattan Leather Bags. They were six artisans in a loft, who sought to create bags made with the finest leather and the superior craftsmanship that the brand is known for today. As a New York design house, the brand creates modern designs with American attitude.
Together, they have created their first campaign, which was shot by Steven Meisel, directed by Fabien Baron and make-up by Pat McGrath. In a statement released to press, Creative Director Stuart Vevers said, “Selena is a rebel and a romantic, a dreamer and a doer who boldly charts her own course.” The shoot took place in the back of a car, symbolising the freedom and spirit of the American girl. The bags themselves are also stunning - with the beautiful baby blue leather shoulder bag catching our eye.
