British fashion house Mulberry is known for its luxury leather goods and for creating bags that end up on not only the arms of celebrities, but on just about everyone’s wish-list. One of their most iconic bags, the Bayswater, continues to be highly sought after – especially after the revival and update of the bag’s style by Johnny Coca in 2016.
This year, Coca revealed a new style of bag which is said to be highly anticipated for its release, which is the Amberley. This new family of bags for the Mulberry brand includes a satchel, a hobo and a mini satchel. According to their website the bags are ‘Inspired by British countryside pursuits, the Amberley gets its ring hardware and satchel shape from traditional equestrian styling.’
It features a new, unique lock which has been inspired by their signature postman’s lock, but is fresh and modern. The bag is very much in keeping with the designs of Johnny Coca as it lends itself to the modern following that the brand have collected with their versatility, being able to be worn in different ways to create a multi-functional, all purpose bag.
The Amberley was named after a street in London; representing the heritage behind Mulberry. Most recently, actress and model Amber Valletta was seen wearing the Amberley satchel to Cannes film festival over the weekend. She wore a head to toe Mulberry look, with her dress also coming from their ready to wear collection.
Here is a look at the versions of the Amberley that we’ve seen so far, and it’s safe to say they are likely to sell out fast. Mulberry have put a page on their site to sign up for more information on the release of this beautiful new addition.
