The HAC is actually the original Birkin, created by Émile-Maurice Hermès in 1892 after taking inspiration from Argentinian cowboys while on a trip in South America. The Kelly and Birkin bag we all know and love actually drew inspiration from the HAC, even though it's the least popular model.
